Mindfulness/Meditation: What is it and how can I try it?

In this practical (and relaxed!) Course you'll learn some simple practices that can be used anywhere, any time. You will be introduced to the western and eastern science view of why it can bring benefits to a diverse range of issues. Benefits listed in science publications include reduction of mental and physical stress, pain, anxiety and depression management, and benefits for heart, immune and digestion systems, to name a few.

Dr Vijoleta Braach-Maksvytis is a Master Yoga Teacher following a career in research and innovation, including Head of Science Strategy for CSIRO.  She teaches meditation by integrating her diverse learnings from east and west sciences, including MBSR (mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) developed by the Medical School of University of Massachusetts, the most cited technique used in science publications.
