We are lucky to have a new massage therapist starting on Mondays and Fridays at Sports N Spine. You can now book in online!
Gaetan has been interested in different sports and their related injuries for a long time. It first started in 2003 when he enrolled in a Bachelor of Sport Sciences at the University of Strasbourg, France. Upon graduation in 2006, Gaetan had acquired an extensive knowledge in anatomy, physiology and biomechanics applied to different sports and physical activities.
A few years passed before he decided to change direction and try his chance in Australia in 2011. Progressively, the idea of helping people became more obvious and recurrent, along with a strong interest in health therapy, and therefore he decided to embrace the career of Massage Therapist and started his studies in July 2014. Gaetan graduated with a Certificate 4 of Massage therapy from the NSW School of Massage in April 2015. He then continued on the Diploma of Remedial massage which he completed in June 2016. He has also been working as a Massage therapist at Health Space clinic in Bondi Junction since early 2016 where he interacts with chiropractor, physiotherapist, acupuncturist and nutritionist in a holistic approach to health and wellbeing.
Gaetan is a passionate and dedicated runner and rock climber, and is regularly found climbing in the Blue Mountains or training for his next race. He has completed a couple of ultra marathon and is now training for his first 100k in May 2017. Having suffered both from running and climbing injuries in the past, Gaetan holds a privileged position in order to help you understand and overcome whatever keeps you from doing what you love. Moreover, he has practiced a wide range of sports including rowing, judo, swimming, snowboarding and mountaineering which allowed him to gather experience on specific needs for each of them.
Gaetan believes in the importance of correct posture to prevent any muscle imbalances, and as a result, he places the client at the center of his approach by also providing tools which can (and should) be used regularly at home. His massage treatments are flexible and personalized, and involve different techniques such as:
· Remedial massage
· Sports massage
· Rehabilitation massage
· Deep tissue and trigger points
· Zen shiatsu
· Swedish massage (relaxation)
· PNF stretches
