Sports N Spine will team up this year with World Spine Day, an organisation which aims to bring awareness to spinal disorders as a global health condition.
How serious a condition are spinal disorders? The global burden of disease study published in the Lancet ranks low back pain as the leading cause of disability worldwide. It is poorly managed on the whole, accounts for a large portion of missed days from work, and can be treated with a few simple strategies, including having a plan of action in place. We will borrow a phrase from Dr. Mike Evans, who calls this a back resilience program.
This program includes having an accurate diagnosis and awareness around your back condition. Usually, these include simple treatments such as a course of spinal manipulation, exercises, advice, treatment with other healthcare professionals who might provide analgesia and medication so that you remain comfortable.
Here is more information about World Spine Day, as well as the role that simple postural changes and exercise can play in decreasing your suffering.
