Matt graduated from RMIT in 2009 with a Bachelor of Health Science in Chiropractic, and in 2011 with a Master of Clinical Chiropractic. Both degrees were earned with distinction. During that time he worked with NIKE and The Athlete's Foot, learning as much about the sport of running as possible.
In 2011, Matt moved to Canberra to work with one of the country's most progressive sports chiropractors.
He gained valuable insight into treating athletes of all backgrounds, both elite and amateur, flying interstate to treat volleyball players at the Renault Beach Volleyball Tournament in 2012 and 2013. Matt is aligned with Evidence Based Practice. He is a member of COCA, Chiropractic Australia, and Sports Medicine Australia , FICS and Sports Chiropractic Australia. He is currently the editor of the COCA News, and has a chance to interview and learn from many of the lecturers, researchers and leading thinkers in the chiropractic, osteopathic and physiotherapy professions.
In 2013, He moved to Sydney and established The Runner's Clinic, a sports specific treatment centre for running related injuries. He established himself at The Sydney Marathon Clinic, The Narrabeen Allnighter and worked with several local running teams to improve their current warm up, warm down, core strengthening and injury management protocols.
In 2014, he also established The Climber's Clinic, which is a unique treatment protocol for rock climbing injuries. He has served as the medical staff for Sport Climbing Australia NSW/ACT, and treats many rock climbers in clinic or at local, state and national events. He has presented at the Australian Climbing Festival, Sydney Rockies and most climbing gyms throughout NSW. He also presents climbing injury management seminars at local gyms, as well as a regular safe landing workshop at 9 Degrees bouldering gym.
Matt is an avid rock climber and distance runner, and is very privileged to treat both amateur and elite athletes. He also treats very common complaints in non-sporting populations. Of these, low back pain, headache and neck pain are the most common. Other injuries he regularly treats are sprained ankles, tennis elbow, shoulder injuries, knee pain, and hip pain. He also works in aged care 1 day each week providing rehabilitation for the retirement community..
